HBUHSD Announces Phase II Reopening of Sports

Dear Edison Soccer Families,

[From  HBUHSD]  “We are pleased to announce the move to Phase II of HBUHSD athletics and performing arts programs beginning Monday, October 26. Our athletic directors, coaches, program directors, trainers, and athletes have done a great job safely navigating the uncertainties we have all faced as we do our best to open up our athletics and performing arts programs.

As we progress through Phase II, our coaches, AD’s, and school nurses would like to emphasize how important it is for students to stay home if they are sick. If we continue to work together on this, we give all our students the best chance to continue their athletic and arts participation and avoid shutting entire programs down. In working with our colleagues in other school districts, we learned this is one of the most important things we can do moving forward.

The California Department of Public Health, OC Health Care Agency, CIF, and HBUHSD safety protocols will remain in place, as they have throughout Phase I.”

More information will be coming from coach Breneman for returning players.

If you haven’t already completed one, the HBUHSD Athletics/VAPA Parent and Student Notification can be retrieved here:  VAPA Parent & Student Notification

And for those of you wondering, we have still not established firm dates for soccer tryouts – could be December/January with details to follow – but we once again thank you for your patience as we navigate the current environment.
